What the Oil Service Covered
The engine oil on this V90 was drained and replaced with fresh fully synthetic oil to the correct Volvo specification. The oil filter was removed, you can see from the photo how dark and saturated it had become. A clogged filter does not clean the oil effectively, so replacing it at every oil service is not optional.
After the fresh oil went in, we reset the service reminder on the car so the dashboard is clean and the next interval starts from zero. This reset has to be done correctly if it is skipped or done wrong, the car may show a service warning too early or not at all.
Why the Oil Filter Matters
The filter in the photo tells its own story. Dark, compressed, clearly at the end of its life. Fresh oil going through a spent filter is a waste, the filter is not doing its job at that point.
